Actress. Dancer. Born Margery Babena Kane, she was the daughter of Eugene and Etta (Tainter) Kane in Brooklin, Maine. Eugene was a farmer, but for a time, the Kane family worked as packers for a local, sardine factory. Marjorie was also a public school teacher. She eventually moved to California, and was a film actress for 30 years. "Babe" appeared in 77 films and TV shows from 1929 to 1959. She also played herself in "Screen Snapshots Series #9, No. 23 (1930), as a Mack Sennett actress. She worked with Laurel & Hardy, Harry Langdon and W.C. Fields. She had roles in Fields' "The Dentist"(1932) and "The Pharmacist"(1933). She also was a performer on eight soundtracks from 1929 to 1943. Her Three Stooges credits were "How High is Up?" (1940) [a woman on the street], "From Nurse to Worse" (1940) [nurse], "No Census, No Feeling" (1940) [maid] and "Cookoo Cavaliers" (1940) [townswoman]. Archival footage including her was used in "The Three Stooges 75th Anniversary Special" (2003). Marjorie died on January 8, 1992, at Temple University Hospital, Los Angeles, California.
