A proud Air Force veteran, Jerry served in the Vietnam War. He later went on to become a firefighter with the Detroit Fire Department, earning the rank of Captain prior to his retirement.
Jerry was the loving husband of the late Angie. Cherished father of Julie (Geoff) Oswalt and Kristine (Jay) James. Beloved grandfather of Stephen, Daniel and Holly Oswalt and Eric and Rachel James. He is also survived by his dear brother John.
The Haney family will receive friends on Monday August 10, 2015 from 4-8 pm at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd. (east of Newburgh and I-275) in Livonia. His life will be celebrated with a Funeral Service on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home.
Jerry will be laid to rest with Military Honors next to his beloved wife Angie at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
