Theodore R. "Ted" Smith, age 86, of Springfield, Missouri, was a World War II veteran and a retired barber following 53 years of service.
He was the husband of Juanita (Chaney) Smith and was a teacher and a deacon of Evergreen Church located between Springfield and Willard, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Smith; daughters, Sandy Dasal of Springfield, and Susan Moore and husband, Bill, of Springfield; son, Doug Smith and wife, Colleen, of Edmond, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren: Josh, Ashley and Jessica Dasal; Tim, Bryan and Kimberly Moore; and Amber, Erica and Brittni Smith; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Heather Moore; numerous nieces and nephews. He was also "Papa" to numerous foster children.
Funeral service were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Rev. Scotty Killingsworth officiating.
