Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2006, at the Hunter Christian Church in Hunter. The Rev. Thomas Corrigan will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home, Enid. She was born March 18, 1923, in Grainola, Oklahoma, the daughter of Clarence Moses McCray and Eva Mae Clark McCray and died July 19, 2006, in Buffalo, Oklahoma. She was 83. Geneva grew up in her early childhood around Stillwater then moved to Western Kansas. As a teenager, she lived in Hillsdale area where she graduated from high school. She met and married her one and only love of her life, Alvin McBeth Boyer on June 3, 1944, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. They moved to Hunter in 1946, where they farmed and had a dairy until 1997, when she moved to Laverne, Oklahoma. She was a loyal wife, and very hardworking and strong willed. Geneva was a longtime resident of Hunter community where she worked as a licensed cosmetologist for many years. She served as a postal clerk in the Hunter Post Office and then as a postmaster, retiring from the postal department in 1990 after 18 years. She was active in the Hunter Christian Church for many years, where she taught Sunday school classes. After retirement, she filled her days with sewing and crafts, including several handmade quilts she made and gave to her grandchildren. Geneva was proud of her children and grandchildren and relished in their accomplishments. She was always strong, proud, and always there for them. She is survived by one son, Rex Boyer and his wife Sharon of Hunter, OK; one daughter, Dr. Zola Prie and her husband Steve of Laverne, OK; four sisters, Mary Jones, Katherine Louns-bury, Jane Bible, and Faye Smith; five brothers, Bernard McCray, Robert McCray, Richard McCray, Wayne McCray, and Steve McCray; one granddaughter, Taylor Price; four grandsons, Greg Boyer and his wife Carrie, Matt Boyer and his wife Erica, Dustin Price, and Tyler Price; one great-granddaughter, Audra Boyer; and two stepgranddaughters, April Hoiser, and Tara Dunham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Boyer, in 1968, her parents, one sister and three brothers. Memorials may be made to the Christian Church in Hunter, Oklahoma with Henninger-Allen acting as custodians of the fund. Private condolences may be made at EnidWecare.com.
