Fred Sackmann was born January 31, 1904, a son of Johannes and Christina Schmied Sackmann at Ashley ND. He moved with his family to Fallon Flats in 1910 and attended Sackmann Schoo. He worked on the family farm all of his life until the summer of 1962 when he retired and sold the farmland. He remained at the farm until November 28, 1984, when he moved to Friendship Villa in Miles City. Mr Sackmann, 81, passed away February 24, 1985 at Miles City, of cancer.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs Christine Schilling of Terry, Louise Schmidt and Freeda Sackman, both of Fallon, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
