Mrs. Mary Andrews

Mary McGehee was born January 9, 1853, and departed this life at the home of her son, Robert Andrews of Springfield, on May 25, 1924, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 22 days.

She was married to Calab W. Andrews on October 23, 1873, who preceded her to the grave March 23, 1922. To this union three children were born. Her son, Sterling Andrews, preceded her in death.

Sister Andrews was converted early in life and joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church, of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was sick only a few hours and fell asleep in Jesus. She was a devoted wife and a faithful mother. She was always true and faithful to her church, and will be greatly missed. She leaves two children, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Funeral services were conducted by the writer at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, in the presence of a large audience of relatives and friends, and the body was laid to rest beside her husband in the beautiful cemetery just south of Walnut Grove.
