Sarah Ann Elliott was born Nov. 14, 1855 in Springfield, Ill. and died at the home of her son Muriel in Cambridge June 3, 1933 at the age of 77 years, 6 month and 19 days. She was a very patient sufferer and was an invalid the past 3 years. She came to Iowa with her parents when a child and grew to womanhood in Story County. March 23, 1875 she was married to Sylvester Scott. They made their home in Story County all of their married life on a farm. To this union ten children were born. Those living are Ambrose, Luther and Muriel of Cambridge, Wesley of Nevada, Mo. Mrs. Viola Bunning of Benkelman, Nebr., Mrs Rose Arvio of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Louise Brown of Ames and Mrs. Minnie Scott of Foxboro, Wis. Two sons preceded her in death , Earl when a small child and Warren in 1926.
Since the death of her husband, Dec. 7, 1925 she has made her home in Cambridge most of the time. She was a kind and loving wife and mother. Most of her life was spent in making a pleasant home for her husband and children.
