Delmer Janssen, 88, of Parkersburg, passed away on August 3, 2015 at Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at West Friesland Presbyterian Church in Ackley with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.
Delmer Harris Janssen was born on May 5, 1927, in Austinville to Henry and Henrietta (Kolthoff) Janssen. Delmer was united in marriage on September 18, 1946 to Jennie Mae Viet. Delmer farmed all of his life.
He is survived by his wife Jennie Mae; his children Virginia (Allan) Kuiper, Leslie (Tammy) Janssen, Harris Janssen and Colleen (Ron) Vogel; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Marvin and Vernon Janssen and his sister Agnes Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Jason Brass; son-in-law Paul Brass; two brothers Virgil and Kenneth and sister Carol Glenn.
