Donna lived in Coatesville, in the apartments above near the Army Navy store.
She was a severe diabetic and had suffered a terrible blow, when she developed gangrene on her foot. It had to be amputated, which made her wheel chair bound.
She had a wonderful personality, a smile brighter than a star, a heart of gold.
She had the ability to be a shoulder to cry on and easily let herself cry on yours.
She absolutely loved her son, Eddie. At the time, he was married to Tammy Blevins Mahoney.
I met her selling Avon, but she had been friends with my dad for many years, so it was an easy transition into a wonderful friendship. I called her Mom and she loved my kids and my husband. We shared secrets and life stories, a love for animals, crossword puzzles, word search puzzles and she just loved a music group who always played in Bear, Delaware. He was Leon Smith and the Shades of Blue. We would go to a little bar down there and she was just get to dancing in her wheel chair, while he sang Elvis songs. He gave her his jacket and she gave it to me.
I loved this woman and due to health reasons and a move, I lost touch with her. It leveled me to my knees when I found out she has passed.
Donna lost her fight to heart disease and diabetes, alone, in her apartment. Help came too late.
I love you Donna.
Many hugs and kisses to a Lady that I considered to be one of the great ones!
