OBITUARY :
MRS. LUCRETIA PARTHENIA NEWCOMER, widow of James B. Newcomer, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Annan, 1925 Virginia avenue, Thursday evening at 7:30 o'clock of complications, after an illness of six months, aged 74 years.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Helping Hand Circle Bible class, Missionary Society and Women's League of the church.

She was also the mother of Sergeant James B. Newcomer, who lost his life in the World War and the late Dr. David R. Newcomer, of Sharpsburg, Md. Mrs. Newcomer had five sons in the World War, four of them serving in France.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. W. Lee Elgin, Mrs. James C. Annan and Mrs. Wm. G. Horst, all of this city; sons, Clyde A., Seattle, Wash.; Gorrell V. and Arthur G. Newcomer, both of this city.

The body was removed to the funeral home of A. K. Coffman, where services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. Wm. Norment. Interment in Lutheran cemetery, Bakersville.
