MRS JACOBA DE BRUYN
OLD RESIDENT, IS DEAD
Mrs. Jacoba DeBruyn, a resident of Grand Rapids more than 64 years, died Thursday at the Holland U.B.A. home where she had resided several years.
Mrs. DeBruyn came to this country with her husband from the Netherlands immediately following the Civil War, settling in this city. She was one of the few survivors of a large number of Dutch immigrants who arrived at the same time.
Mrs. DeBruyn is survived by three sons, Dick, Christopher, and Abraham, and one daughter, Mrs. Ida Karelse, all of this city. There are 35 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10 o'clock Monday at the Holland home and 2 o'clock at Vant Hof's funeral home. Burial will be in Fairplains cemetery. Six grandsons will be the bearers.
