Barnes, Richard, MSgt United States Air Force (Retired), age 82, of Fairborn, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Deborah of Springfield, VA, CMSgt (retired) James and Catherine of Smithfield, VA, Dan and Catherine of Fairborn, Richard and Kari of Fairborn and daughter, Diana Weaver of Trumansburg, NY. Richard is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Michael, Emily, Zachary, David, Samuel, Sophia, SSgt Matthew Barnes, and Jordan Weaver; sister, Mary Bohmer, sisters-in-law, Pat Barnes of Ridge Manor, Florida, Helen Nichols of Franklin, OH, Suzie Crowley of Huntsville, TN, Laura Crigger of Fairborn, and Eva Crigger of Gassaway, WV; brother-in-law, Rev. Benjamin Crigger of Gassaway, WV, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and wonderful neighbors of 40 years, Bob and Geri Evans.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Margarett Barnes; brothers, David Barnes, Daniel Barnes; and sister, Pearl Swansbrough The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and caregivers of Summit at Park Hills Nursing Facility.
Visitation will be held 4:00 - 6:00 pm Tuesday, August, 4, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH where a service will follow at 6:00 pm.
