In Memoriam
It was with deep feeling of regret and sorrow that the many friends of Hattie N. Byers heard of her death, which occurred at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Byers. She had suffered four months with bronical trouble. The remains were interred in Hopewell cemetery, Rev. Duncan conducting the funeral services. She was born in Jeffersonville, Ind., Oct. 24, 1883 and passed into the higher life, Nov. 27, 1905, age 22 years, 1 month and 3 days.
The recording angel has closed the volume but within its brief pages is recorded the history of a beautiful young life which was like a flower, born to bud and blossom when the reaper death claimed her as his own. God in his wisdom recalled the boon His love has given and while we deplore with sad hearts the vacancy which can never be filled we cherish the hope to meet the sweet spirit of Hattie in that celestial realm where there is no parting and where tears and sorrows are unknown.

Parents - Allen Gustave Byers who was a Cigar Maker and Amanda Stoddard married in Jennings County Oct. 14, 1880
