Bernice Postma, daughter of Sieba and Japke Postma, was born in the Netherlands on February 17, 1891. She lived her youth and attended school in The Netherlands.
She was united in marriage to Durk Wiersma in The Netherlands on May 13, 1914. They lived in The Netherlands six years after their marriage and came to the United States in January of 1920 and settled in the Maurice, Iowa vicinity.
On September 15, 1936, they moved to Sanborn and lived in Sanborn until retiring when they entered the Prairie View Retirement Home of Sanborn where she lived until the time of her death on February 7, 1971 at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 20 days.
She is survived by her husband, Durk, of Prairie View Home ; one son, Durk of Wellington, Kans.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
