Willard Joseph LaCombe, 81, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, in a local care facility. He was born July 28, 1926 in Hayes to Artelus and Pauline Broussard LaCombe. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired groceryman.


He is survived by his wife, Mary Vera LaCombe of Lake Charles; three sons, Arthur Olson LaCombe of Patterson, Texas, Johnny LaCombe of Lake Charles and Virgil Paul LaCombe of Simonton, Texas; two daughters, Betty Ann Haycroft of Westlake and Brenda Gail Minks of Orchard, Texas; one brother; two sisters; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Lee LaCombe; two brothers; and two sisters.


His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Granger Cemetery in Sweetlake. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until service time in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles
