Services for Mrs. Evelyn Kennard, 86, of Kilgore will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 11, 2010 at Centre Presbyterian Church in Elderville with Reverend John Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Mrs. Kennard passed away Wednesday in Kilgore.

Evelyn Kennard was born in Rusk County, Texas on July 2, 1924, daughter of the late James Tillman and Clara Oliver. Evelyn married Don Kennard on August 29, 1942 and they were marred for 48 years until his death in 1990. Mrs. Kennard was lifelong member of Center Presbyterian Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Teacher. She had been an active member of the Women of the Church, Home Demonstration Club and the Longview chapter of TOPS. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden.

She is survived by her son Jack Kennard and wife Dianne of Kilgore; daughter, Diane Ferrell and husband, Jim of Green Valley, Arizona; granddaughter, Brandy Bailey and husband Chirstian of Spring, Texas; sisters, Tillie Smallwood of Liberty City and Betty Bastian of Casper, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don Kennard and brother, James E Oliver.
