Funeral for John Henry Besson, a retired physician and surgeon, will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Riverview Cemetery chapel. Interment will be private. Dr. Besson, who lived at 12433 SW Edge Cliff Road, died Monday in a local hospital. He was 93.
He was a member of the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners, Chief of Staff at Holladay Park Hospital and a member of the Portland Academy of Medicine before his retirement.
Survivors include his son, John Jr. of Lake Oswego; daughters, Barbara Martin, Millicent Bildsoe and Helen Besson, all of Portland; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
