Martha “Dianne” Leftwich Austin, 67 of Huddleston, went to be with her lord and savior on Monday, July 27, 2015. She was born in Bedford on July 18, 1948. A daughter of the late Letcher Ralph “Bunt” Leftwich and Mary Elizabeth Bates Leftwich. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, James Letcher Leftwich and Marvin Dennis Leftwich.

Dianne was a very devoted Christian and farmer who enjoyed spending time on their family farm. She loved her family and cherished spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cooking and volunteering especially around holiday’s to provide to those in need. She never met a stranger and made friends with everyone.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Roy Sherman Austin; four children, David Sherman Austin and his girlfriend, April Campbell, Kelly Leigh Austin Tuck and her husband, Kevin, Sarah Elizabeth Austin Fisher and Julie Dianne Austin-Witcher and her husband, Brett; three grandchildren, Codey Wayne Turner, Christian Noel Tuck, and Nathan Austin Tuck; one sister, Frances Woodford; one brother, Claude Randall “Randy” Leftwich also numerous nieces, nephews and so many friends.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Dianne’s memory please consider the Huddleston Community Church, 4491 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston, VA 24104. The family would like to thank the staff of Centra Hospice, numerous care givers and the community for their love, compassion and support during this most difficult time.

A Celebration of Martha’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford. Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford is assisting the family.
