Obituary for Larry Leo Carter:

Larry Leo Carter, 60, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado. He was born December 17, 1954 in Ransom, Kansas, the son of Leo Clinton and Emma Jean (Rock) Carter. Larry has been a long time resident of Liberal and graduated from Liberal High School in 1973. He attended and graduated from Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana with a BA in Education. Larry was a teacher and coach in Kansas, including USD 480 at South Middle School & West Junior High. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Liberal.

On February 19, 1983, he married Cynthia "Cyndie" Snell, in Junction City, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Leo Carter, of Harker Heights, Texas, Berakah Carter, of Liberal, Kansas, Larcyn Carter, of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Two daughters, Cathi Carter, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Cherie' Luken and husband, Joshua, of Aurora, Colorado. Mother Emma Jean Stewart, of Liberal, Kansas. Brothers, Lyndon Carter and wife, Lilia, of Udall, Kansas, Randy Carter, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Brother-in-law Ed Kimberly, of Portland, Oregon. Grandchildren, Collette, Rebekah, and Wesley Luken of Aurora, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his Father, and a sister, Linda Kimberly and other extended family members. A memorial service celebrating Larry's life will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, August 1, at First Southern Baptist Church, with Pastor Jack Jacob presiding. Cremation has taken place. A guest book will be available for signing from 9 AM to 5 PM, Friday, at Brenneman Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Nhomlaau International Association, in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd St., Liberal, KS. 67901.
