He married Anna Elisabeth (Alice) Schmer January 1, 1861 in Norka Colony, Saratov, Russia, daughter of Johann Schmer and Elisabeth Sauer. She was born March 4, 1841 in Norka Colony, Saratov, Russia, and died May 5, 1902 or 1905.

Anton, Peter and Alice's son, visited the Cemetery in Sutton, Nebraska to find Peter's grave and found that there is no marker.
