went home to be with the Lord, Nov. 26, 2008.Born in Horn Lake, Miss. on July 6, 1929 he lived in Munroe Falls for 20 years.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. Grooms; parents, Robert and Lucille Grooms; father-in-law, and best friend, James M. Cash and siblings, George, Duke, Thomas, Gene, Dick, Bit and Louella. He is survived by children, Dan Maxfield of New Hampshire, Melanie (Ralph) Gibbons and Beth (Ken) Taylor all of Munroe Falls; grandchildren, Travis Maxfield, Melissa Randall of New Hampshire, Victoria Gibbons, James Taylor, Colleen Taylor and Grace Taylor all of Munroe Falls; siblings, John Grooms, Emilie (Tom) Long, Flo Carmell, Betty Cropper and William Grooms.Mr. Grooms served proudly in the United States Air Force for more than 26 years, and saw service in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Stationed all over the world, Mr. Grooms was the recipient of numerous medals and military honors and awards, including the Soldier's Medal for Courage. He attended Cuyahoga Falls Church of the Nazarene, where he loved and was loved by many people, including his Pastors, Chris and Georgia Patton.Friends may call at the Redmon Funeral Home, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Service will be conducted at the Cuyahoga Falls Church of the Nazarene, 330 E. Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls, Monday 11 a.m. Interment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park where military service will be conducted by American Legion Falls Post 281. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christmas Project of the Cuyahoga Falls Church of the Nazarene, P. O. Box 1081, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.
