'Edith Pardee Dies in Massachusetts'
Miss Edith Pardee, 83, a native of Hazleton, and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ario Pardee, died yesterday afternoon at her home in Harwich Port, Mass. Her father was a coal operator and was the founder of Lafayette College. Miss Pardee was one of seven children born to Mr. Pardee by a previous marriage. Her only survivor is a brother, Frank Pardee, Hazleton, who is a retired coal operator and is now in his 88th year.
The mother of Miss Pardee was Anna Maria Robison, after whose family the Robison Post 20, GAR, Hazleton, was named. On February 3 the Post staged a centennial dinner in honor of the sole surviving member, State Commander Al W. Gabrio, who was 100 years old on that date.
Funeral services will be held at the home on Thursday afternoon with interment in Harwich Port.
