Funeral services for Walter Albert Nunley Sr., 84, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday Jan 7th. 1984 in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel with burial in the Minerva Cemetery. Rev. Leonard Muston officiated.

Mr. Nunley died Thursday January 5,1984 in Richards Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was a Rockdale resident, having being born August 14, 1899 in Milam Co. to Mr. and Mrs. George Foster (Florence Lynn} Nunley. He was a railroad employee.
Mr. Nunley and Flora Mae Dyer were married Aug. 27, 1919 in Rockdale. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 10, 1982.
Survivors include a son, Walter Albert Nunley of Paulsboro, New Jersey; one daughter, Mrs. W. G. Shoemaker of Sanderson; one sister Mrs. Seltina Nasbitt of Michigan; also
10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Mr. Nunley was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
