CARL EMANUEL DUNKIN - Funeral services for Carl Emanuel Dunkin were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 1995 at the Novinger-Taylor Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Ted DeHass officiating. Interment was at Washington Cemetery in Gravity.
Carl Emanuel Dunkin, son of Ruth (Rufus) Thaniel Dunkin and Mary E.[lviner] Konecne Dunkin was born in Taylor County, Iowa, in the Oak Hill community March 3, 1901 and departed this life at his farm home in Gravity, Iowa at the age of 93 years, 10 months and 28 days.
He lived in Taylor County and grew to maturity there where he attended the public school and the Oak Hill Church.
On August 4, 1921 he was united in marriage to Bina Feme Akers at Gravity, Iowa and they lived on the family farm.
To this union three children were born: Doyle Dunkin, Lois D. Novak, and Jean D. Roeder.
He was engaged in farming.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ferne.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Doyle Dunkin and wife, Ginnie; Lois D. Novak and husband, Ralph; Jean D. Roeder and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Marty Novak and Jane Robertson, Steven and Laura Roeder; great grandchildren, Mary, Rebecca, and Michael Novak, and Ariel Sinclair; and many relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Oak Hill Church.
He was a kind and considerate husband, dad, and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a special love for horses.
