WATHENA, Kan. -- Annabel (Parker) Absher, 87, Wathena, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at a St. Joseph, Mo., hospital.
Annabel was born on February 27, 1918 in Wathena, Kan., to Harvey Lee and Myrtle (Meade) Parker. She was a lifelong resident of Wathena and a homemaker. Annabel was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wathena.
Annabel married Wilbur "Boe" Absher on Nov. 6, 1937 in St. Joseph, Mo. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lucille Hoffman; three brothers, John, Moa and Milton Parker.
Survivors: son, Tom Absher, Prairie Village, Kan.; three daughters, Nancy Prawl, Stewartsville, Mo., Linda Nigus, Troy, Kan., and Jeri Hewins, Eudora, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey Parker, St. Joseph; three sisters, Louella Taylor, Olathe, Kan., Henrietta Mejia and Berniece Mansperger, both of St. Joseph, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, First Baptist Church, Wathena. Burial: Bellemont Cemetery, Wathena. Family visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena where friends may call after 12 Noon today.
Memorials: First Baptist Church, Wathena.
