M. Winona (Williams) Miles, 84, of Oswego, formerly of Solvay, passed away Tuesday at Oswego Hospital. Born in Talpa, Texas, she lived in Solvay since 1945. She was a graduate of both Brownwood University and Syracuse University. She was a special-ed teacher for East Syracuse-Minoa School District for 19 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Assoc., the Solvay Senior Citizens and AARP. The town of Scriba designated her as a Scriba Treasure. She was predeceased by her husband, Aldo, in 1992.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Lee Miles of Oswego; a son, Al Miles of Camillus; three sisters, Virginia Switaj of Jamestown and Vivian Mathews and Fay Fowler, both of Houston, TX; one brother, CL Williams, of New Brownsville, TX; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at Bagozzi Twins Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Ave.
