Mrs. John Fox Dies Suddenly in Church
Mrs. Katherine L Fox, 57, wife of John F Fox, of 18 Harrington Ave., Cortland, was suddenly stricken with a heart attack Friday evening, March 19, 1937at St Mary’s Church, while attending Lenten services and died shortly after the last rites of the church had been administered. Dr. C. O. Mills was called but the seizure was so severe there was little that could be done to aid her.
Mrs. Fox was born in Syracuse, May 5, 1880, the daughter of John and Johanna Quinlan. She was married to John F Fox at Tully, January 7, 1903. Mr. and Mrs. Fox spent almost all of her married life in Cortland.
Surviving besides her husband are one son, Donald F Fox, two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Quinlan and Miss Anna Quinlan, and three grandchildren, Francis, John and Robert Fox, all of Cortland.
The funeral services were held at 9 am Monday morning, March 22, 1937 from the late home and from St Mary’s church at 9:30 a.m. Burial was in St Mary’s cemetery, Cortland.
