BISHOP, Va. — Nellie Ann Jones Woodall, age 84 of the Grassy Spur community of Bishop, VA, died Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. Born July 27, 1930 in McDowell County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Lee Jones and Sarah Jane Altizer Jones. She was a member and mother of the church at Dix Creek Community Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Oscar William Woodall; five brothers, Squire, James, Fred, Edward, and Lawrence Jones.



She survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Alva Woodall; two daughters, Mary Jane Woodall of the home and Christina Lynn Mercer and fiancé, Chris Hall of North Tazewell, VA; daughter-in-law, Mary C. Woodall of Grassy Spur Rd., Bishop, VA, five grandsons, Oscar Woodall II and fiancée, Randi, Alva Woodall and wife, Kara, Wayne Woodall and fiancé, Beth, Shayne Woodall and wife, Toshia, and Daniel Lee Sawyers; granddaughter, Cassandra Mercer; great grandchildren, Justin, Alicia, Kyle, Jackie Leigh Ann, Legend, Jasmine and Zach Woodall, Cody Asbury, Kaitlyn and Alexis Mayes, Cailyn Hodges, Raeleigh Justus-Sawyers, Sophia Mercer, and Justin Lee Wright, Jr.; great great grandchild, Hannah Hutchinson; nephews, James Jones, Jr., and Teddy Lee Jones; special friends, Heather and Fuzzy Sayers and their sons, Chris, Triston, and Gavin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA, with Pastor Randy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodall Cemetery at Grassy Spur in Bishop, VA. Pallbearers will Oscar Woodall II, Alva Woodall, Wayne Woodall, Shayne Woodall, Chris Hall, and Josh Brown. Honorary pallbearer is Daniel Lee Sawyers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015.
