Margaret Maxine (Loeb) Nelson, 98, daughter of Adolph J. Anna (Hirchert) Loeb, was born November 12, 1913 in Hornick, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the New Homestead, Guthrie Center, Iowa.
The family moved to Galva, Iowa in 1923. Margaret attended both Hornick and Galva schools. Margaret joined the Galva Methodist church in 1930. Margaret married Henry J.P. Nelson on March 3, 1931. To this union was born one son, Carrol William Nelson on February 8, 1932.
Margaret and Henry operated a turkey farm near Galva. In 1960, she took a position with the Vilas Turkey Processing Plant in Storm Lake where she worked until her retirement in 1982. In 1998, Margaret moved to Guthrie Center, to be closer to her niece and nephew, Howard and Betty Merryman, and family.
Left to mourn her is her son, Carrol Nelson of Rosemead, CA; special niece Betty Merryman and many nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, daughter-in-law Gail, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, and nephew Howard Merryman. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Galva Township Cemetery - East, Galva, Iowa.
