Lois was born in Chester, Pa. to the late London Jones and Caroline Coleman Jones and was a graduate of Chester High School and Cheyney State Teachers College. Before her retirement, Lois was employed as a teacher for the Chester-Upland School District for 33 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Chester. Widow of Floyd Ferguson, Lois was also pre-deceased by her canine companion Baby Girl and her brother-in-law Keister O. Newman. She was 77 years old. The beautiful memory of Lois’ wonderful life will forever remain here in the hearts of her 3 daughters Caroline Couture (William), Sara C. Ferguson, and Farrah Ferguson (Christopher), 1 grandson Maxwell Goodhart, 2 sisters Carole J. Harper, and Martha J. Newman, dear friend who cared for her LaVera Foster, brother-in –law – Lawrence L. Ferguson, nieces - Kia E. Newman, Jaelynne Bethea, and Alissa Dyitt, nephews – Anthony P. Newman, Lawrence Ferguson, Douglas Ferguson, and Jerome Ferguson, many other relatives, friends, and students. Service: Saturday, July 25, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 1100 W. 2nd Street, Chester, Pa. Viewing: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
