Earl Reed “J” Wyatt, 83, of Rexburg, died Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born October 30,1932, in Wellsville, Utah to Earl Thorpe Wyatt and Elsie Johnson Wyatt. After completing high school in Wellsville, he attended Utah State University where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture.

He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the S.W. Indian Mission which covered New Mexico and Arizona. Throughout his life he served in many church callings.

He enlisted in the Army as an Active Reserve and served two years including service during the Korean War.

Reed married Loree Egbert March 8, 1956 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple.

After their marriage, they moved to Arizona, he worked for Maricopa County planning and zoning. Frank Lloyd Wright and Associates, Van Cleve and Associates as well as being a landscape architect for residential, business, church, parks, colleges and community projects. One of the highlights of his career was working for Arizona State University for many years.

Reed moved his family to Rexburg in 1973, where he worked for Ricks College as their landscape architect. He built his home in Arizona and apartments in Rexburg. He enjoyed taking pictures, playing the accordion, watching old movies, gardening and building projects.

Survivors include his wife Loree of Rexburg and their children; Terry (Suzanne) Wyatt of Garland, UT, Tracy (Jeffery) Wynn of Rexburg, Jan Drake of Caldwell, ID, Jackie (Blair) Oram of Emmett, ID; siblings, Doreen (Clayton) Allen of Burley, ID, Galane (Dean) Lloyd of Soda Springs, ID, LaVal (Louise) Wyatt of Red Bluff, CA, Connie (Mike) Janis of Flagstaff, AZ and 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jodi Wyatt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, at the Rexburg Center Stake chapel, 590 Summerwood Drive, with Bishop Kory Lofthouse officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
