Joy J. Jordan
Joy J. Jordan, 73, of 252 Denver St., died of a heart ailment Friday at 2:45 a.m. at Allen Memorial Hospital.
A life resident of this community, he was born at Cedar Falls April 3, 1885, a son of Thomas and Alice Jordan. He married Mattie May Courter Jan. 17, 1906 at Waterloo.
Mr. Jordan was a retired Chamberlain Corp. engineer and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Viola Jordan, at home, Mrs. Dorothy Altland of Independence, and Mrs. George Keene, Klamath Falls, Ore., and a son, Carl, 1201 Home Park Blvd.
There are also two sisters, Mrs. Frank Corwin, 1211 Home Park Blvd., and Mrs. Echo Chidester, Santa Clara, Calif., 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by is wife, parents and one daughter.
Funeral services are pending at the Locket Funeral Home.
