Lewis died from spinal meningitis at 11 1/2 months old. He was beginning to walk when he passed away. His back bowed like a "V" and his Mother, Bertha Chaney Luke would not allow them to break his back to be put him into a coffin. So his Father Constant Luke made a special "V" shape coffin for Lewis to be buried in. He was loved deeply by all who knew him in his very short little life. The day Lewis crossed over he left a heartache in everyone that NEVER healed. His love left a memory in everyone that time couldn't steal. We feel Lewis among us everyday-unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and forever Dear.

He is buried next to his Mother Bertha Chaney Luke (right side). There is a small cement slab on his grave. On the left side is Lewis's big brother Lucious Luke.
