CAMP, JR. VAUGHAN, 85, A member of a long time Miami Dade family died July 22, 2003. Born in Tampa, FL, April 22, 1918. He moved to Miami Shores in 1931 and the home in which he grew up is now listed as a historical site. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami, He also obtained an MA in History from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He did additional graduate study at the University of Florida. He was a Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, also a member of the Elks, and a member of the University Club. He was faculty advisor for Sigma Alpha Mu as well as Clio Clio Clio. He selected and coached the U of M entry in the College Bowl. He taught history and Constitutional Development at the University of Miami and Parsons College, Fairfield, Iowa. He was predeceased by his wife, Billie Jane of 61 years. He leaves behind two daughters, Carol Anier (Alex) and Candy Winfrey (Randy), six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of the Library, 150 NE 79th Street, Miami, Florida 33138. Memorial Services will be held at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Funeral Home, 11655 SW 117th Avenue, Miami, Florida, on Friday, July 25, 2003 from 2-4 p.m.
