Mary Catherine Gregory, age 78, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Reid Hospital. Mary was born December 31, 1929, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Samuel W. Gregory Sr. and Laura B. Hundley Gregory and had resided in Richmond since 1945.
She was a member of Golden Explores and attended day services at Green Acres/Achieva Resources since 1987. Mary enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends.
Mary had many friends and was loved by all who knew her including her sisters, Daisy Mae Bellamy of Baltimore, Maryland and Hazel Charlton and her husband, Onnie of Richmond; many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece and her guardian, Loretta (Kent) Hildebrand of Williamsburg; sister-in-law, Ruth Gregory of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and a very close friend, Twila Don Hunt of Richmond who was as close as a sister.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Chester, Cecil, Sam Jr. and David Gregory; and three sisters, Mayme, Pearl and Stella.
A public visitation for Mary Catherine Gregory will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. A public graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Herd Cemetery in Sibert, Ky. Memorial contributions may be made to Achieva Resources Inc., P.O. Box 1252, Richmond, IN 47375.
