Mr. Billy J. Quinn, age 76 of Palmetto Street in St. Marys, Ga., passed away at his residence on the afternoon of Friday, July 17th, 2015 surrounded by his beloved family.

Mr. Quinn was born on November 30, 1938 in Humboldt, Tn. He is the son of the late Gertie Rummge & James Leonard Quinn.

Mr. Quinn served as a Captain in the United States Army, doing two tours during the Vietnam War. He was a proud Vietnam Vet. Upon moving to Camden County, he worked for Camden Telephone Company and TDS Telecom for 25 years. He then went to work for Darien Telephone Company for 5 years. He was a proud Rotarian and was the President of the Rotary Club of Kings Bay and then went on to be the President of the Macintosh County Rotary Club. He also loved being a greeter and usher at the Lighthouse Church of God and Agape Christian Fellowship.

Mr. Quinn is survived by his beloved wife, Doris Quinn; his daughter, Kathy & her husband Troy Manning, and his son, James Mitchell Quinn, all of St. Marys, Ga.; his two sisters, Bettie Duncan, and Barbara & her husband Tom Harris, all of Jackson, Tn.; and his grandchildren, Payton & her husband, Eric Tippins of Folkston, Ga., Michael Lemas & his fiancé Allie, of Pleasanton, Ca. and PO2 Dakoda T. Manning, stationed with US Navy in Hawaii.

A remembrance service for Mr. Quinn will be held at Lighthouse Church of God Saturday July 25, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Bobby Woods presiding. Graveside committal services will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday July 27, 2015 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Fl. with US Army military honors to be rendered.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Mr. Quinn’s honor to be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Ga. 31525.

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland is entrusted with Mr. Quinn’s arrangements.
