Carmela Chavez, age 67, of Clovis, NM, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at her home in Clovis. She was born November 18, 1938 to Vincent and Rose Nespola Manuella in Bronx, New York. She married Jose Jesus Chavez on August 28, 1965 in San Diego, CA. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband Jose Jesus Chavez of Clovis, NM; four daughters, Debra Beard of Portland, OR; Rose (Horace) Herring of Hanford, CA; Stella (Craig) Buntenbach of O'Fallon, IL; and Angel Chavez of Hanford, CA; one sister, Stella Ludirico of Long Island, NY; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A rosary will be said in her honor on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
