R. Wallace Jones Funeral Set Today
Funeral services for R. Wallace Jones, 60, Woodburn merchant who died at Salem Memorial hospital Monday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Ringo Funeral chapel. Interment will be at the Pioneer cemetery near Brooks.
Mr. Jones, who was co-owner and manager of the A. E. Austin store here, suffered a heart attack last Saturday afternoon, was taken to Salem and died Monday. He was born at Brooks May 11, 1888. He came to Woodburn from Portland in 1938. He was a member of Hinson Memorial Baptist church in Portland and was active in the Woodburn Rotary club and chamber of commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Jones of Woodburn; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie McKay of Seattle and Mrs. Betty McFarland of LaFayette, Cal.; two brothers, Elton Jones of Portland and Buford Jones of Hillsboro; and a sister, Mrs. A. E. (Grace) Austin of Woodburn.
