Funeral services will be held in Midland, Texas at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Garden City Cemetery in Glasscock County at 2:00pm. Rev. Herb McPherson will be officiating the services.
Bruce was born on July 7, 1931 in San Angelo, Texas to Lester “Bud” and Vivian Hanson.
Bruce loved to spend his time dancing and telling his tall tales to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an incredible story teller and had a knack for embellishment.
He enjoyed doing puzzles and spending time with his family.
Bruce was a life-long rancher and businessman.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his two sons, Lester Hanson of Midland and Donald Hanson of Garden City; daughter, Deborah Murray of Pampa; companion, Betty Sauls of Pampa; sister-in-law, Shirley Wheiles of San Angelo; 9 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Vivian Hanson; wife, Evelyn Hanson; brother, Leonard Hanson; two grandsons, Lester Hanson, Jr. and Martin Hanson; and one great-granddaughter, Brianna Hanson.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Hanson, Steven Hanson, Tanner Cochran, Gage Deitz, Cole Hanson, and Daniel Hanson. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Casey and Clint Berry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Garden City Cemetery Fund or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
