OBITUARY

James R. LOMBARD, 87, of Winchell Smith Drive, Farmington, husband of Doris (Evarts) LOMBARD, died Wednesday (October 29, 1997), at the McLean Home in Simsbury. Born in Casco, Maine, November 5, 1909, son of the late Fred and Louise (Chute) LOMBARD, he resided in Farmington for 45 years. Prior to his retirement in 1971, he was Vice President and Comptroller at the Ingraham Company, in Bristol. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II, he was a member of St. John's Lodge No. 4 A.F. & A.M. in West Hartford and a member of the Sphinx Temple. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Edward CURREN of Strongville, Ohio, Roberta and Bryon LICHTENBERG of Wellesley, Massachusetts; one sister, Evelyn DEMING of Farmington; one brother, George LOMBARD of South Berwick, Maine; four grandchildren, Edward and Christopher CURREN and Kristen and Kimberly LICHTENBERG. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Jessie BARNARD, Bertha ATKINSON; and one brother, Ralph LOMBARD. A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, November 9, 1 p.m. in Granby Cemetery, Granby, with the Rev. Ned W. Edwards officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rte. 4 Unionville, is in charge of arrangements.
