This is my Great Grand Mother Clara Reid.

I found records my Great Grandmothers maiden name was Clara COBBOLD. Even tho she raised her children, in Lochwinnoch, Scotland, she was born and raised in England.

I know that she came over on a ship from Scotland to Australia alone with her children.George Reid, Betty Reid, James Reid and Clara Reid and Cyril (Starling) Reid. "Bill" as he was known here in Australia was a half brother to my grandfather James Reid and his sisters, there was another half brother his name was Sydney/Sidney ( unsure of which way it was spelt at this stage) he never came out to Australia, looks like he decided to stay behind with my great great grand parents in England. from information so far it looks around approx. 1925.

My Great Grand Mother was living over here in Victoria or came for a holiday but went and lived her later years with her daughter Betty Reid ( unsure of her married name )in Western Australia eventually passing away over there.

My Grand Mother Lillian Reid always told me this one line over and over again about my Great Grand Mother that Mrs Clara Reid was a TRUE TRUE LADY.

I just wish I had got the opportunity to get to know her, she passed before I was born.
