The trek from Bristol County Massachusetts to Morristown, New Jersey was 216 miles by wagon. And then they moved east again 346 miles to Washington County, Pennsylvania.
"New Jersey, Compiled, census & census substitutes Index, 1643-1890" " Abraham Hathaway signed OATH OF ALLEGIANCE 1749 i Morris County, New Jersey" page 50, "NJ Early census Index"
According to the family history Abraham/Sarah were farmers in New Jersey and so was their son Richard/Abigail.
The book "Counterfeiting in Morris County, New Jersey." by: Robert J. Pipes "the story has been told over & over in 3 of the Colonies, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The counterfeiting was then of course were on monies that were of the King's Government" Since the King prohibited the Colonists from making money. "One proven incident was with John Pipes Sr., Abraham Hathaway, Job Allen and several others in the mid 1740s. They were discovered, indicted and arrested in 1748."
Son Richard's Baptism Cert New Jersey 1754
After this the family moved to Washington County, near the waters of TenMile Creek, Pennsylvania.
1790 census Washington County, PA
This just gives:
"free white males 16 years and upward= 1
and 4 boys under 16 / free white females including head of family=2 --Total=7"
The farm they owned was "near the waters of Tenmile Creek," Morristown, Washington County, Pennsylvania
Plenty of documentation that states Richard's father was Abraham...And
there is a Birth cert that gives Abraham's father as Abraham (1685)

:NOTE: The family owned property in TenMile so the chances that they were buried at the nearby church is good, but not proven... but then it has been 230 years for grass, weeds and dirt to cover the headstones.)
