Mr. Groene was pronounced dead on arrival Sunday at Lutheran Hospital.
He was born in Hannibal, Mo., and married Mae Peterson in 1928 in Moline.
He was employed at International Harvester Co., Farmall Works, for many years and later at the ABC Cigar Store, Davenport.
Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Clinton England and Mrs. Andrew Kean, Rock Island; two sons, Carl E., Milan, and Donald O., Rock Island; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Herring, Rock Island and Mrs. Amelia Cheek, Sarasota, Fla; a brother, Fred, Rock Island, and 13 grandchildren.
