Vera Phillips, 102, of Vernon, Texas, died on Wednesday July 15, 2015 in Vernon, Texas.
Graveside service will be held on Monday July 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Chillicothe Cemetery with Rev. Ron Fox officiating. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Vera was born on August 31, 1912 in Hopkins, County, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Loomis Vennie Burkhart and the late Freddie Brook Lynch Burkhart. She married Alvie Phillips and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1942. She had worked for Hughes Cleaners doing alterations for many years and also at Kelso Cleaners. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was a Homemaker.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Phillips and Jackie Phillips, four brothers, Leroy Burkhart, Bob Burkhart, Ivan Burkhart, and Dick Burkhart and a sister Ruth Ivan.
Visitation will be held on Sunday July 19, 2015 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Dawson, Allen Eagleston, Colton Cooper, Preston Lacy, Terry Cooper, David Lacy and Tony Laird.
