Fathered twelve children (including a set of male twins) but only six lived to adulthood, including neither of the twins. Moved to Livermore Falls/Jay area around 1894, from Gorham/Berlin, NH area. Frequently throughout his life he used the "translation" Cross for his surname LaCroix. And some of his children ended up doing that as well, so some Cross family are descended from him. He had a brother, known as Paul (whose French name was Napoleon) who also did that even more so. "Paul Cross" settled and raised family in Old Town, Maine.
