"MRS. JOHN McDOWELL

Rev. Ure Stewart of Seaforth .conducted the funeral service for Mrs. John McDowell who died July 4 at Huronview after a lengthy illness. Mrs. McDowell was the former Elizabeth Jane Snell, daughter of the late George, Snell and Jane Bradford and was born in Hullett Township. She was in her 83rd year. In 1912 she married John L. McDowell who passed away in 1950. She lived for many years in the Westfield district and was a member of the Westfield. United Church. She is survived by one son, Gordon, RR 1, Belgrave, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Smith, RR 1, Belgrave; Mrs. Gordon (Edythe) Smith, RR 1, Belgrave; and Mrs. John (Jean) Gear of Waterloo, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The funeral service was held at the William Stiles Funeral Home with interment in Ball's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Norman McDowell, Harvey McDowell, Lloyd Walden, Eddie Taylor, . Lyman Jardin and Arnold Cook."
