An obituary was published in the Ottumwa Daily Courier of October 27, 1950, for Daisy. She died suddenly at 1:25 a.m. that morning at her home.

Daisy was one of two women who were injured early Thursday afternoon in an automobile mishap at the corner of Cass and West Main streets. After being taken to the St. Joseph Hospital and being treated for an injured right hand and knee, she was returned to her home. While physicians had not connected the automobile accident to her sudden death, an autopsy was to be held that afternoon at the Johnson Funeral Parlors to determine the cause of her death.

She had lived in Ottumwa her entire life and was a member of the Benton Street Pentecostal Church.

Daisy was survived by her husband; three sons, Dwight, Jr. and Billy, both of Ottumwa, and Pvt. James Williams, serving with the Army Medical Corps in Japan; seven daughters, Mrs. Alberta Osborne, Mrs. Marcene Francis, Mrs. Kathryn Saunders and Mrs. Nora Young, all of Ottumwa, and Marilyn, Leota Mae and Florence Williams, all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Dehart, Mrs. Onnie Ware and Mrs. Florence Mosher, all of Ottumwa; two brothers, Charlie Benson of Des Moines and Bert Benson of Ottumwa; and 13 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters, one daughter and one son.
