She was united in marriage to Chester A. Ghent on April 6, 1944, in Newton. Beulah was a homemaker and farmer’s wife. She worked at the Maytag Factory during World War II. She also enjoyed working during the holidays for several years at the Maytag Dairy Farm.
Beulah M. Ghent, 93, of Baxter died on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, at the Baxter Health Care Center in Baxter.
Survivors included her daughter, Becky (Carroll) Froah of Newton; two grandsons, Christopher (Michelle) Froah of Baltimore, Md., and Jonathan (Andrea) Froah of Iowa City; five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Noah, Andrew, Ella and Liam; and many nieces and nephews.
Beulah was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chester in 1976; four sisters, Charlotte Johnson, Verna Tupper, Dorothy Frahm, and Iva Steinberger; and two brothers, James and Robert Steinberger.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter with the Rev. Gene Bucklin of the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter officiating. The family greeted friends at 11 a.m. with a coffee time at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials to the donor’s choice could be left at the funeral home.
