Bartholomew Co., Indiana
Complete Record Probate Book G, p. 157
Aug. 22, 1843
An entry concerning the real estate of Absolem T. Herod, dec., states that Absolem died in 1842 leaving these heirs: Mary, his widow, and Woodford, Elmira, [Martha] Ann, Francis and Edward Herod, all minors. Philip Love petitions the court for a deed for real estate that he had purchased from Absolem before his death. William Singleton is appointed a commissioner to convey the real estate to Philip Love.
Absolem Herod's burial place is not known for certain. His widow is buried at Azalia Methodist, which was already in existence at the time of Absolem's death, so that is the most likely site. He does not have a marker there, nor does she, although she was mentioned (as an unmarked burial) in a cemetery inventory taken about 1942.
