Cancer Claimed Life of Mrs Goldie Myers, Age 73

Mrs GOLDIE A MYERS, 73, of five miles southwest of Garrett of Rt 1 LaOtto died Tuesday at 2:45 pm at her home from cancer. She had been ill for three years.

The body is at the McKee funeral home in Garrett where final rites will be held Friday at 2 pm. The Rev Robert Jackson of the Huntertown Methodist Church, of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Chapel Cemetery southeast of Garrett. The Avilla Order of Eastern Star will hold twilight services at the funeral home Thursday at 8 pm.

Mrs Myers was born May 3, 1887 in Allen county and had lived in the LaOtto area for the past 18 years. She was married June 28, 1943 at Hillsdale Michigan to Danny Myers who is a farmer.

Surviving besides the husband are five children by a previous marriage. Walter Pepple of 510 Ensley Avenue Auburn, Wilbur Pepple of Fort Wayne and Mrs Erman Warner, Mrs Sam Bireley and Mrs Paul McDougal, all of Huntertown; three stepchildren, Major Sam Myers of Wichita Falls Texas, Eugene Myers and Mrs Betty Gaff of LaOtto; one brother, Clifton Meese of Sturgis Michigan; a sister, Mrs Leonard Dunten of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
